About STF

The Scottish Training Foundation grew out of the Volunteer Centre Programme Agency over 20 years ago. It's present day format consists of an umbrella company - The Scottish Foundation for Social and Economic Development - a registered charity under which operates The Scottish Training Foundation - a registered charity and Portfolio Consultants Ltd - a sister company which undertakes non-charitable work but repays all profits to The Scottish Foundation for Social and Economic Development.

STF Mission

STF will achieve their vision through:

The development of vocational, personal and life skills that increases the employability of the individual for the world of work, for those seeking employment.

Providing accredited vocational training and personal development services through a range of public funded contracts, to those in education or seeking employment.

Supporting employers to recruit, induct, up-skill and source funding to employ our clients and develop their current workforce.

Providing commercial training and environmental construction services to individuals, communities and businesses that offer employment opportunities to our clients and others.

Planning and implementing community action projects that give our clients valuable work experience in applying their newly developed skills for the benefit of communities across Scotland.

Developing new methods of learning to improve access, impact and uptake of learning by our clients and others.

Accreditations

The Scottish Training Foundation is an Approved Centre for the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), City & Guilds and ASDAN. Additionally, it has SQMS (Scottish Quality Management System) approvals for Quality Assurance.
